“Have to” vs “get to”
Over the past few weeks I’ve been bogged down with my physics class. When I’m not working, I’m studying and when I’m not studying, I don’t want to do anything else. This has definitely cut into my workout time.
Since my first test was postponed one week, I now have extra time to study AND exercise as much as I would like. What I’ve noticed about this unplanned rest from my normal gym routine (excluding my weekend half marathon :) is the refreshing change from “I have to go workout tonight” to “get to!” I love feeling excited about getting to be healthy and move and improve my body. I love when it doesn’t feel like a chore, although in this new year is has never felt that way like it has in years past.
Hour & 1/2 or so of cardio and strength training tonight. Work, class, and rest tomorrow. My favorite duathlon with Johanna on Friday: rock climbing followed directly by a nice, long trail run. :)
Hope you’re all having a good week!
